Penrith Christian School is a growing co-educational, independent Christian school for students from Early Learning to Year 12. We are a well-established and vibrant community for over 800 students located in Orchard Hills, adjacent to the M4 motorway.

About the Position

We are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and collaborative candidate for this full-time position to join our dedicated Science team. The successful candidates will share our commitment to nurturing the academic, social, emotional, spiritual, and pastoral wellbeing of every student, informed by a Biblical worldview and aligned with our framework.

 

The Role

In this role, you will:

  • Design and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated learning experiences that respond to the needs of students.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and Christ-centred learning environment through proactive classroom practices, effective behaviour support, and a genuine commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and administrative capability.
  • Apply your expertise and deep understanding of how students learn to maximise engagement, deepen understanding, and promote growth and achievement for every learner.
  • Model creativity, initiative, reflective practice, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
  • Provide regular, meaningful, and timely communication and feedback.
  • Contribute actively to the pastoral care of students, supporting their spiritual formation, character development, and sense of belonging within the school community.

 

About You

With the ability to drive and facilitate a deep love of learning in students, your Christian faith will be evident in your ability to integrate an authentic Biblical worldview into student learning experiences and our community. Along with NESA accreditation and a current Working with Children Check number, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A personal teaching philosophy that includes a strong commitment to Christian education
  • That you are a committed Christian, actively involved in your local church
  • Experience in Physics or Stage 6 will be highly regarded but not essential. New graduates are encouraged to apply
  • A strong desire to facilitate a love of learning in your students through collaborative, innovative and effective practice
  • A commitment to excellence and a thorough understanding of relevant syllabuses
  • A desire to work as part of an effective and collegial staff team
  • A commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
  • A commitment to child safety and policy adherence
  • Proficient ICT skills across a range of platforms
  • A willingness to support programs of the school, including camps, sport, academic and other cultural events
  • Current qualifications and the right to work in Australia
