Penrith Christian School is a growing co-educational, independent Christian school for students from Early Learning to Year 12. We are a well-established and vibrant community for over 800 students located in Orchard Hills, adjacent to the M4 motorway.

About the Role
We are currently seeking a compassionate and qualified School Counsellor to join our dedicated team and support the wellbeing of our students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
As a School Counsellor at PCS, you will play a vital role in promoting student wellbeing and pastoral care. You will provide individual and group counselling, collaborate with staff and families, develop educative programs, and contribute to a safe and supportive Christian school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide short to medium term counselling for students
- Demonstrated expertise in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of psycho-social issues preferred
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide specific advice
- Implement, monitor and evaluate support interventions
- Develop and consult with staff about wellbeing programs and initiatives
- Implement Individual Plans for students
- Respond to critical incidents
- Conduct interviews with new students applying to enter the school if required
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with ethical standards
- Other duties as directed by Supervisor or Principal
About You
With the ability to work collaboratively in key role within our wellbeing team, your Christian faith will be evident in your ability to integrate an authentic Christian worldview into your practice and support of students and their families. You will hold a current Working with Children Check number and be able to demonstrate the following:
- That you are a committed Christian who actively lives out their faith
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work
- Registration with a professional body or willingness to do so
- Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational or clinical setting preferred but not essential
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including recordkeeping
- Flexibility and interest in working in an innovative and dynamic environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
