Nowra Christian School are currently inviting applications from committed Christians of Protestant persuasion who are active in their local church, to join our team in 2027, as a: Teacher Librarian
Full-time Teacher Librarian position commencing Term 1, 2027.
- Build lifelong readers. Lead a vibrant K-12 library and help students discover a love of reading.
- Teach and collaborate. Co-design curriculum with classroom teachers and deliver library and information literacy lessons that equip students with research, digital and critical thinking skills.
- Be part of something bigger. Work in a supportive Christian community that grows students in faith, character and knowledge.
Selection Criteria
- A strong Christian faith and an active member of a local Protestant church and an understanding and/or experience of teaching from a Christian worldview
- Appropriate teaching qualifications
- Post-graduate training in Librarianship or similar and/or previous experience as a Teacher Librarian would be highly regarded
- A genuine passion for literature and a commitment to fostering literacy appreciation in students
- An innovative and enthusiastic approach to libraries, reading and information seeking
- Energetic, enthusiastic and has a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management skills
- Excellent classroom management and ICT skills
Mandatory Requirements
- Current Protestant church minister’s referee details
- Completion of the school’s online application form
- Current NSW Working With Children Check approval number
- NSW Teacher Accreditation number
