General Assistant
Nambucca Valley Christian Community School (NVCCS) is a thriving K-12 Christian School situated on the Mid North Coast of NSW.
We are seeking a General Assistant to join our team. The successful applicant will work as part of the grounds and maintenance team, partnering with teaching and non-teaching staff to actively support the Christian vision, ethos and policies of the School. The General Assistant will perform a range of tasks related to the routine maintenance and upkeep of the School’s assets, buildings and grounds.
This is an ongoing, part to full-time position, three to five days per week (0.6 – 1.0 FTE) as negotiated with the successful applicant.
Role duties
- Perform routine maintenance of school assets, including buildings and grounds per the School’s Maintenance Plan
- Respond to maintenance issues in a timely manner
- Undertake minor repairs of buildings and equipment not covered by contracts or requiring a qualified tradesperson
- Co-ordinate trades and services when required
- Safely and proficiently operate machinery, tools and equipment necessary to the role
- Preparation, set-up and removal of furniture and equipment to support the smooth running of school activities
- Other related duties to the role, within the capabilities of the General Assistant as required
Essential Criteria:
- Committed Christian able to subscribe to Nambucca Valley Christian Community School’s statement of faith (available on the website)
- Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety standards
- Work cooperatively within a team environment, as well as autonomously
- Prioritise and complete set tasks in a timely manner
- Organised with strong attention to detail
- Proficient computer, written and oral communication skills
- Initiative, self-motivated and a ‘can do’ attitude
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in a similar role
Applicants will be required to undergo NSW Working With Children Check, identification verifications and referee checks.

Remuneration will be in accordance with the current NSW Christian Schools General Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement.
