Cleaner (Casual)

Moree Christian School is seeking a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner (Casual) to join our team. This position involves maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The successful applicant will take pride in their work, have a strong attention to detail, and be able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties
Clean classrooms, offices, staff rooms, meeting rooms, and common areas.
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
Dust and wipe furniture, desks, shelves, and other surfaces.
Clean and sanitise bathrooms, toilets, and washroom facilities.
Empty rubbish bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
Replenish consumables such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels.
Clean windows, glass doors, and other glass surfaces as required.
Maintain cleanliness of hallways, entrances, and outdoor areas as assigned.
Assist with cleaning and setup requirements for school events and functions.

Physical ability to perform cleaning duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Ability to obtain and maintain relevant Working With Children clearances and other checks as required.

Health and Safety
Follow safe work practices and school policies at all times.
Use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
Report maintenance issues, hazards, damages, or security concerns promptly.
Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors.

General Duties
Secure buildings and facilities as required during cleaning shifts.
Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure supplies are adequately stocked.
Work collaboratively with school staff and other members of the facilities team.
Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the Facilities Manager, Business Manager, or Principal.

Essential Requirements
Previous cleaning experience preferred but not essential.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Christian Commitment

As a member of the school community, the Cleaner is expected to support the Christian ethos, values, and mission of the school. While this role is primarily operational, all staff are expected to contribute positively to a Christ-centred environment and demonstrate respect, integrity, and care in their interactions with students, staff, families, and visitors.

This is a casual position, from 10/08/2026 to 31/08/2026.
