We are seeking a Teacher Aide in a Full-time or Part-time capacity. We seek to support our staff with up-to-date Professional Development and support, and so flexibility of a part-time or full-time load is offered for the right candidate(s). Term 2 Start. The Role Consistent with the mission statement, all roles at Moree Christian School, including the role of Teacher Aide, require the incumbent to: (a) affirm and promote the purpose, mission, Statement of Faith and policies of the school, (b) model and maintain the Christian ethos of the school in all areas of responsibility, and (c) contribute to the ongoing health and development of the school’s Christian educational community both professionally and personally. The primary function of the role is to contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by providing students with high level support for learning as directed by the classroom teacher. The characteristics of this role include: specialised knowledge, initiative, flexibility and the application of professional judgement. The primary responsibilities of the role include:
- Assist teaching staff by providing learning support for students identified with additional needs including learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
- Assist students and teachers in areas of the school identified by the Principal or relevant supervisor.
- Be familiar with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) in terms of working with students with disabilities.
- Implementation of programs in classroom or withdrawal settings.
- Assist in the collation of evidence for NCCD submissions.

Educational Support – Teacher Aide As Teacher Aide you will:
- Assist and support teachers in the preparation of quality and effective teaching and learning programs which are consistent with the principles of effective Learning and Teaching and relevant syllabi, curriculum policies, work programs and educational trends.
- Assist and support teachers with the supervision of students with high support needs. Work independently with individuals and small groups of students, to implement programs that have been planned by the classroom teacher.
- Organise and supervise games and playground activities to promote physical, mental and social wellbeing as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Support students through interaction with them in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.
- Assist teachers in providing for the physical, social, cultural and emotional wellbeing and physical safety of students whilst at school and enhance their overall development towards effective citizenship and responsible adulthood through participation in timetabled, non-timetabled and planned extra curricula activities.
- Provide bathroom support of students with disabilities if required.
- Assist with playground supervision as required.
- Work in a number of areas that require knowledge of policies and procedures, hygiene monitoring, behaviour management, alternative and greater communication devices and strategies, physiotherapy, first aid, classroom duties, assisting in program delivery and keeping students focused.
- Exercise of high-level initiative in accomplishing objectives either on an individual basis or in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Interpretation and application of processes and documented precedents within a school environment may be required for problem solving.
- Establish and maintain appropriate collaborative relationships with teaching staff.
