MidCoast Christian College is an expanding, Christ-centered school of over 800 students and is situated in the Greater Taree region on the beautiful mid-north coast of NSW. A vacancy has arisen for an Administration Assistant.

About the Role:

The Administration Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the staff, students and parents of the College from the front Reception Desk. This role has significant responsibility for providing administrative, organisational and efficient running of the reception and student services areas. Experience in communications or database management would be an advantage.

The Administration Assistant supports and models the College values and Christian ethos when dealing with all stakeholders. They serve as an ambassador of the College and its leaders, promote its policies, and exemplify its standards.

The Administration Assistant is part of the Administration Staff and works collaboratively in a team environment to support and enrich their collective responsibilities. They promote a culture of mutual respect, encouragement, and work with others in a professional, ethical, and cooperative manner in line with the College values.

The successful applicant will be expected to attend professional development activities at the College during Conference weeks in January and July of the school holidays.

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Answering all incoming phone calls.
  • Attending to all visitors and enquiries.
  • Administering first aid to students in sick bay and giving out daily medications as required.
  • Collection/ management of EpiPen, asthma, anaphylaxis and medication management plans.
  • Managing and ordering of all first aid supplies.
  • Maintaining and ordering office supplies for the administration cupboard.
  • Assisting the Communications Manager with College notes & notices through Staff Kiosk.
  • Additional administrative tasks as required.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant must:

1.       be a practicing Christian, active in a church and subscribe to the Statement of Faith;

2.       have a strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy;

3.       the ability to manage a busy reception area;

4.       have the ability to work independently, but also as part of a team;

5.       be able to interact with students, staff and parents;

6.       hold a high level of interpersonal skills;

7.       be discrete and be able to maintain high level of confidentiality;

8.       be competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and a variety of other databases;

9.       hold a current First Aid certificate or be willing to obtain one;

The successful applicant must satisfy NSW Working with Children and NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) teacher employability requirements and be eligible to work in Australia.
