Secondary Teaching and Learning Coordinator FULLTIME POSITION With solid growth of the School in the local community, student numbers and facilities, we are in a great stage of school development. Maitland Christian School is seeking an experienced and passionate curriculum leader to join our secondary team. The successful candidate will champion Christian worldview integration into teaching and learning excellence, drive curriculum innovation, and align all academic practices with NESA syllabi and assessment requirements. The Secondary Teaching and Learning Coordinator role is a newly created role commencing in Term 1, 2026. Heading up the leadership of the KLA Coordinators, this executive position is ideally suited to an experienced Christian curriculum leader excited to lead the team in the next stage of school improvement. Applications Close Tuesday, 14 October 2025 Essential Criteria · A teacher and a leader with a passion for transformational Christian Education integrated into the curriculum and delivered in a framework with an increasing missional focus; · A committed Christian actively involved in their local church; · An ability to actively subscribe to and promote the foundational beliefs and doctrines of Maitland Christian School Limited; · A relational and empowering leader, able to grow staff vision and capacity for Christian Education and skills to relate well to staff, students, parents and the broader community; · A strategic leader, who can grow the breadth and impact of teaching and programs across the School; · A collaborative leader, able to collectively draw out the capacity of the team to pursue ongoing excellence and who can interact with the Instructional Coaching Team to effect improved student learning outcomes across these faculties; · Experience teaching senior classes teaching experience in your area of KLA expertise; · A willingness to learn, grow and be coached as both a teacher and leader; · An understanding of Christian Education in the context of a ministry of a local Church; · The ability to operate in a strengths-based framework and to develop staff and student culture around this framework; · Experience in the delivery and leadership of quality teaching practices based on an evidenced-based quality teaching framework with explicit teaching foundations; · A leader with an understanding of the requirements of supporting students with learning diagnoses in a mainstream classroom environment; · Well-developed communication, administration and interpersonal skills. · High level of experience with Australian Curriculum, NAPLAN and HSC; · High level of knowledge of pedagogical frameworks; · Experience in curriculum innovation, assessment practices, and differentiation; · Ability to thrive under pressure and be adaptable to changing environments; · An enthusiastic, inspiring and innovative personality with an ability to evoke a positive team culture and build community connections. Selection Process The School’s Selection Committee will consider applications as they are submitted and prepare a shortlist of candidates for interview. The School may move more quickly to interview highly suitable applicants. It is expected that at least one round of interviews will be undertaken with the successful applicant appointed to the School staff, ideally commencing duties as soon as possible at the beginning of Term One 2026 or as negotiated. Salary Salary will align with NSW Christian Schools Teaching Staff Multi- Enterprise Agreement 2020-2023 at the successful applicant’s level of responsibility and experience. Given the School’s size and the supporting leadership structure, a teaching load will form part of the role.
