Leighland Christian School is a thriving, community-centred non-denominational, independent Christian School of approximately 660+ students, with a K-6 Campus at Burnie and a K-12 Campus at Ulverstone.
Due to a restructure of roles in the School, a new position of responsibility has been created. An exciting opportunity awaits an innovative and highly engaged leader to join the Ulverstone Campus in 2025:
Head of Future Learning (7-10)
0.5 FTE
Ulverstone Campus
The successful applicant/s will be responsible for:
· Overseeing the development and delivery of all 7-10 curriculum
· Rolling out the new Learning Framework with the Campus Principal across years 7-10
In partnership with the Director of Academic Operations, WHS Risk & Compliance Manager, developing a philosophy of assessment and reporting in alignment with the school’s vision, mission and values
The development, training and delivery of all pedagogy within the Ulverstone secondary campus
· Leading and rolling out the Literacy “Lifting Literacy Tasmania” mandate in years 7-10
Developing and training staff in Ai (Artificial intelligence) practices and write policies and procedures for this practice.
Working with the Campus Principal, to train and develop years 7-10 staff on the Ulverstone Campus to use Transformation by Design and move it from a cognitive understanding and bring it to life in the 7-10 Secondary classrooms
Leading, training, inspiring, keeping accountable and encouraging the Ulverstone 7-10 Learning Area Leaders
Participating in the Ulverstone Campus Management Team and attend meetings
Introduce educational competitions and other experiences into the Learning at Ulverstone Secondary School
Working with the Ulverstone Campus Principal, capturing data (e.g. NAPLAN, PAT, etc) for each student’s Personalised Learning Plans and help train staff to understand it and use it to meet students’ point of need.
Encouraging authentic student voice in the life of the school
Contributing to the vision and implementation of flexible learning spaces on the Ulverstone Campus
The successful applicant/s will have:
· Proven commitment to Christian faith including active/regular involvement in a church.
· A good understanding of and commitment to the mission and philosophy of the school.
· Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a range of school community members.
· A commitment to the provision of equal opportunity in education for all students.
· Current Tasmanian Teacher’s Registration (or the ability to obtain one).
· A current Working with Vulnerable People card.
A written reference from a pastor/minister.
