Executive Principal, commencing January 2026

Leighland Christian School

The Leighland Christian School Board welcomes applications for the pivotal executive leadership role of Executive Principal. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic, committed Christian leader who possesses both the personal qualities and professional experience to contribute to our bold vision, aspiring to be a ‘Hope-filled Christian community pioneering personalised real-world education’.

Leighland Christian School is an independent, co-educational institution with multiple campuses, offering education from Kinder to Year 12. Since its inception in 1976 with just 36 students in Ulverstone, Leighland has grown significantly. Today, we proudly educate 700+ students from Kindergarten to Year 12, with campuses in both Ulverstone (Kinder through to Year 12) and Burnie (Kinder through to Year 6).

Leighland Christian School is dedicated to providing bold Christian education for the North West Coast of Tasmania. We offer students and teachers the opportunity to explore the foundations of a relationship with God while living according to the principles established in the Bible. We believe that every student has the potential to make a positive impact in the world, and we strive to foster that potential through delivering a Christ-centred K-12 education that inspires, nurtures, and equips students to connect learning to life.

We take pride in providing an affordable private education that emphasises both academic excellence and student well-being. At Leighland, we believe that when young people are truly happy, they are more likely to engage, aspire, and thrive within our learning community.

Our vision is to be a hope-filled Christian community pioneering personalised real-world education. This vision drives us to offer a nurturing, high-quality education at an accessible cost, cherishing each child and encouraging them to discover their God-given potential. We are forward-thinking, not only in the development of our buildings and grounds but also in our innovative opportunities, advanced approach to teaching, and the encouragement of student agency in all facets of school life. This is led by a group of dedicated and expert educators who build strong relationships with our students.

At Leighland Christian School, we offer a comprehensive hands-on curriculum that integrates a biblical worldview, faith-based values, and principles with academic rigour. Our students benefit from a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, music, STEM, and community service opportunities. We also provide a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages students to explore their interests and develop their God-given talents.

Our values are central to everything we do. We are Christian to the core, leading with innovation, committing to personalised learning, embracing partnerships, and seeking to serve. It is no coincidence that our young people display warmth, humour, and respect for one another and our community. By integrating these principles into our daily practices, we aim to create a supportive and enriching environment where every student can thrive.
