The IT Manager is required to participate in the development of the School as part its ministry in accordance with the vision, mission and values of the School.
The use of technology continues to form an important component of both the educational and operational landscape of the School. The effective use of technology can be viewed as an enabler that allows staff and students to enhance learning, communication and operational efficiency.
The IT Manager has responsibilities for managing the technical and educational needs of the School's information services. In particular, the IT Manager is accountable for the:
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the ICT Strategic plan;
- Management of the School's network performance, reliability and security;
- Providing ICT Support to Academic and Business Staff
- ICT resource and budget management;
- Co-ordination and management of information services;
- Development of the ICT team.
The IT Manager at the School is responsible to the Principal via the Business Manager for day to day operational management of the School's network infrastructure and client facing devices. This includes leading and managing the ICT Services team to ensure that an effective model of service and maintenance is implemented across all supported platforms and systems. This role is a mix of management and hands on support and will require the incumbent to balance these competing priorities.
The incumbent is expected to take a leadership role in maintaining and advancing the School's network systems and communications infrastructure and in developing School-wide standards for that infrastructure. To achieve this, the ICT Manager will work in partnership with the Business Manager and other ICT Staff, as well as consult across the School to establish a synergy between staff/student needs and emerging technologies.
