Hinterland Christian College is currently accepting applications for a Receptionist to join our team in Term 4 2025
Hinterland Christian College is a creative, compassionate K-10 Christian School in the Byron Shire, New South Wales, Australia.
We provide quality education with an individualised approach for all students K-10. We are proud of the environment we have developed for each child to grow into their God-given potential and enjoy celebrating their progress.

Our college is situated at the base of Mount Chincogan with stunning grounds, including a dry billabong environmental learning space. The physical space provides the canvas for a peaceful, safe and beautiful learning environment in and out of the classrooms.

- The ability to undertake routine administrative and reception tasks with diligence, accuracy, and care.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, demonstrating reliability and integrity.
- A commitment to professional learning and personal growth.
- A current driver’s licence.
- A Working With Children Check (or the ability to obtain one).
- Experience with Google Drive and social media applications would be advantageous.
Role, Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Customer service
- Attend to reception area – enquiries from staff, students and parents;
- Assist with school student attendance information;
- Manage all incoming calls, maintain the telephone and voicemail system;Order, collect or arrange event supplies on request;
- Organise second hand uniform stock and parent enquiries;
- Work with College/parent communication apps; and
- Maintain student transport diary (change to student transport arrangements).
First Aid
- Monitor unwell students, record required student sickness and liaise with parents/carers as required; and
- Monitor and maintain stock levels and register of all first aid products.
Social Media
- Collation of images and information pertaining to events and school activities;
- Maintaining social media accounts and posts in consultation with the Principal; and
- Responding to enquiries/comments in relation to social media content.
Administration
- Monitor and order office consumables in consultation with the Operations Manager;
- Monitor and order/collect kitchen supplies;
- Post Office – deliveries and collection from local post office; and
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal or their delegate.

Hours of Duty
