PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER 2026 – FULL-TIME

HillSide Christian College is an evangelical, Christian school located in Forrestfield, with an approximate enrolment of 455 students from 4-year-old Kindy to Year 12.

ABOUT THE ROLE
HillSide Christian College is seeking a Primary School Teacher commencing Term 1, 2027.

This Contract is for an initial two-year fixed term with the possibility of conversion to ongoing status. Applicants seeking Full-Time employment are encouraged to apply.

Salary is based on the College’s Teacher Pay Scale and negotiable on qualifications and experience. A copy of the salary scale, Code of Conduct, and Statement of Faith are available upon request to the email contact provided in this advert. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

KEY EXPECTATIONS
Successful applicants will be practising evangelical, protestant Christians, who are able to demonstrate and work within the College’s Christian framework. All teachers will need to accept the College’s Code of Conduct (including Statement of Faith) and meet all compliance requirements. All teachers will be expected to be able to teach from a Christian worldview.

HOW TO APPLY
Applicants should be able to demonstrate their personal faith in Jesus Christ as God and Saviour and demonstrate their active membership in an evangelical, protestant Christian Church. An applicant should be a dynamic teacher with high-level skills, proven experience and the desire to work within a Christian team setting.

1.       A cover letter addressing the selection criteria listed in the section below, within the context of HillSide Christian College, in the primary school area. The cover letter should include:
All selection criteria;
Indicate all primary school year levels that the candidate can successfully teach;
The applicant’s work experience, educational philosophy and how they would contribute positively to a teaching role in the context of HillSide Christian College.

2.       Current CV outlining qualifications, church membership, professional referees, contact details, and career history.
3.       A written reference from a Pastor/Elder or the contact details of a Pastor/Elder who can be contacted for a verbal reference in regard to the applicant’s Christian faith, character and practice.
4.       A copy of compliance documents named in the dot points below:
a current Working with Children Card (WWCC);
a current TRBWA registration.

1. Outline your Christian journey and beliefs and how this would mirror and support the College’s Christian vision and mission;
2. Reflective practice and professional contribution: evidence of critical reflection, ongoing professional growth and positive contribution to team and whole-school improvement;
3. Be an exemplary, enthusiastic educator who demonstrates a willingness to collaborate with all staff as part of a professional learning community;
4. A comprehensive knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and differentiated learning;
5. Demonstrates the ability to use data to inform practice based on evidence-based research;
6. Knowledge and use of high impact strategies in their teaching practice;
7. An inclusive teacher who can support students with diverse learning, social and cultural needs through the constant promotion of safety and wellbeing;
8. Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills that create a supportive and safe environment;
9. Understands the importance of developing positive relationships with children, staff and parents and can demonstrate evidence of such actions.
