Launceston Christian School (TAS) is a co-educational independent K-12 Christian School which aims to provide a caring and stimulating environment for learning. The school is distinctively Christ centred and is committed to providing effective spiritual, emotional, physical and academic support for all its students.
The Head of Senior School provides effective leadership within the School community to ensure that Senior School students receive quality Christ-centred education and support in accordance with Christian principles.
As a member of the School's Leadership Team, the Head of Senior School assists the Principal in the day-to-day management and development of the Senior School's teaching staff and learning programs in accordance with the Launceston Christian School's policies, procedures and values.
The following key criteria will be used as a framework for review for the Head of Senior School position:
- A committed Christian of the evangelical and reformed persuasion, able to subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith and/or the Three Forms of Unity, active in church life, dedicated to implanting a biblically integrated curriculum with a commitment to excellence and training in a thoroughly Christian world and life view.
- Ability to apply Biblical perspective to the day-to-day running of the School and to lead in a Christian manner. Show a passion and vision for the development of Christian Education and sound knowledge of education directions.
- Experience in team building, proven methods of communication, effective networking skills and the ability to work alongside students and staff successfully.
- Successful experience in staff leadership, management, planning and development. An understanding of governance/management concepts.
