THE ROLE:
Year 7 & 8 English, being central to the learning and development of all young Australians, requires the teacher to provide lessons that help create confident communicators, imaginative thinkers and informed citizens. It is through the study of English that individuals learn to analyse, understand, communicate and build relationships with others and with the world around them. The teacher will help the students learn to listen to, read, view, speak, write, create and reflect on increasingly complex and sophisticated spoken, written and multimodal texts across a growing range of contexts with accuracy, fluency and purpose.
Year 7 & 8 History will bring to life what our students must know about Australian society and other societies in the world, both past and present; and how they function socially, culturally, economically and politically. Students are provided with opportunities to explore different perceptions of people, places, ideas and events and examine how individuals and groups have participated in and contributed to society past and present.
