We seek an experienced and dedicated Senior English Secondary Teacher to join our faith-based community.
We are looking for an inspiring educator who can instil a deep appreciation for literature and language in our students, preparing them for both academic success and a life of critical thinking.
About the Role
As a Senior English Secondary Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering an engaging and rigorous curriculum that aligns with both QCAA and our school’s Christian values.
- Mentoring students to develop their analytical and creative writing skills.
- Fostering a classroom environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and a love of reading.
- Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the department’s curriculum and teaching strategies.
Commencing on 16 January 2026, this position is full-time.
Relocation assistance is available.

Essential qualifications and requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in teaching.
- Queensland College of Teachers Registration (or the ability to obtain).
- Experience teaching Year 11 and 12 Senior English.
- Be fully aligned with the values, virtues, and Christian beliefs of Freshwater Christian College.
- Able to affirm the College’s Statement of Faith.
- Able to comply with College policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and training requirements, including those related to work health and safety, risk management, child protection, and confidentiality.
- Able to work with all members of the College community.
- A willingness to assist in extracurricular activities after normal working hours.
- Be legally permitted to work in Australia.
