Financial Accountant

Flinders Christian Community College is a large, K-12, multi-campus independent school on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula.

The College is enjoying a period of significant growth and is looking to innovate in how we structure our Shared Services teams to support the future aspirations of the College. Integral to this new arrangement is the creation of a new role of Financial Accountant.  

Position Overview

Reporting to the Business Manager, the Financial Accountant will play an integral role in supporting the Business Manager in overseeing the Finance Function as well as providing support to payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.  They will be instrumental in overseeing month end processes, including, preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining the fixed asset register, assist with monthly management reporting and general ledger maintenance as well as contribute to important Finance Projects that drive efficiency in the use of College resources.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a finance team, preferably in or alongside a payroll function, and be a CA or CPA member or be willing to study towards it. Previous school finance experience is also desirable.
