Casual Cleaner

Endeavour Christian College is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Casual Cleaner to join our operations team to cover cleaning across the College. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and community.

About Our College

Endeavour Christian College is an independent, non-denominational Christian College located in Cooktown, Queensland. Established in 2012, the College is one of 16 schools operated by Christian Community Ministries Ltd. The mission of Endeavour Christian College is to provide Christ-centred schooling in an atmosphere of love, respect, peace and discipline that encourages students to achieve their full potential for God.

About the Role 

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across classrooms, offices, and shared facilities, supporting the daily operations of the College and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, amenities, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces
• Clean and sanitise bathrooms and high-touch areas
• Empty bins and manage waste disposal
• Replenish consumables (soap, paper towels, toilet paper and other requirements as needed)
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies
• Report maintenance issues and safety hazards
• Follow Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures
• Additional deep cleaning as required by the College

About You

• Previous cleaning experience (school or commercial preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Physically fit to perform manual cleaning tasks – a functional assessment is required to complete the role.
• The College would arrange this for the candidate.
• Understanding of safe cleaning practices and chemicals

Requirements

• Current Working with Children Check / Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
• Alignment with the Christian values of the College

Position Details

Type: Part-time / Casual (flexible) – when required
Hours: Typically mornings or afternoons/evenings during school terms and holiday periods as needed.
