About the School
Emmanuel Christian Community School is a co-educational K-12 school located in Perth’s northern suburbs. The School opened in 1982 and now has an enrolment of around 700 students. The School’s Vision and Mission can be found on the School website.
Applications are invited from innovative and dynamic Christian teachers qualified to teach Food Technology. This is a part-time (0.60 FTE) position starting in Term 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of quality Food Technology teaching programs in secondary school.
There will be opportunities for professional development and mentorship.
The successful applicant will:
- actively demonstrate a commitment to promote the objectives and ethos of Christian Education as articulated in the Vision and Mission of the School.
- be a Christian, belong to a church and called to this ministry.
- have a good understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.
- demonstrate strong organisational and administrative skills.
- demonstrate initiative, excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Responsibilities:
- Order and purchase supplies for all Food Technology classes from Years 7 – 10
- Deliver lessons in Food Technology to Years 7 – 10 classes
- Oversee the budget for the Food Technology department
Selection Criteria:
- Experience teaching Food Technology (Years 7-10)
- Experience or ability to teach Textiles to Years 9 & 10 would be an advantage
- The capacity to design creative and engaging educational opportunities for students which support their growth as independent and resilient learners
- Experience with ICT skills
- Excellent English oral and written literacy skills
- Organisational and administrative skills
