Role Overview:

We seek a passionate and experienced Deputy Principal for Curriculum to join our leadership team. This pivotal role involves shaping and implementing an innovative curriculum that aligns with our Christian values and educational goals, while addressing the unique challenges and opportunities of our diverse student population.

An outward-looking perspective and a strong grasp of contemporary pedagogy and learning technologies are essential. This role is crucial in driving educational excellence and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.

Classroom teaching role of up to 0.2 FTE will be included as part of the 1.0 FTE role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating the School’s goals in line with its Mission, Vision and Values
  • Lead research and evidence-based curriculum delivery and pedagogical practice for Years K-6.
  • Ensure the curriculum meets the diverse student needs and foster growth.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development among staff.
  • Plan and deliver quality professional learning activities for staff.
  • Develop the team’s leadership potential.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and a wide range of staff members, including administrative personnel, support staff, and specialist educators to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
  • Fostering reflective practice, professional dialogue and a collaborative approach to enhancing learning and teaching.
  • Analysing data and research to identify and improve learning and teaching practices.
  • Collaborating with parents, community leaders, and external agencies to support student learning and well-being.
  • Coordinate and lead school events.
  • Support the principal in daily school operations.

Selection Criteria:

  • Proficiency in the Western Australian Curriculum, Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Framework.
  • Well-developed knowledge of literacy and numeracy teaching and learning.
  • Strong organisational skills and ICT skills.
  • Initiative, communication, interpersonal skills and collaborative ability.
  • Proven record in fostering student development and achievement.
  • Leadership in supporting, coaching, and mentoring team members.
  • Ability to analyse data and research to enhance learning and teaching.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrated experience and sensitivity in working with multicultural and disadvantaged communities, with a strong understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and student needs.

Desired knowledge and experience:

  • Experience using SEQTA
  • Knowledge of SeeSaw and its use in ECE
  • Experience using Brightpath
