MAF is urgently seeking an experienced educational professional to advise, resource and support staff families in the education of their children and to oversee its child safety strategy, driving policy and standards and implementing training across the organisation.

Each and every day we are flying for life - bringing emergency relief, long-term development and the good news of Jesus to people living in isolated communities around the world. MAF is committed to resourcing and supporting our dedicated team of 1250 international staff, many of whom who live and serve in remote and often challenging locations. This includes safeguarding the wellbeing of 300+ MAF kids and helping them access appropriate educational options.
This vital role will see you:
- Developing and implementing policy frameworks to support the well-being, safety, protection and education of children.
- Working closely with staff families in field based locations to provide advice and support on educational issues and find creative solutions to their unique educational challenges
- Overseeing and providing regular support, resources and advice to home-schoolers.
The ideal candidate will be an accredited teacher with experience delivering education through non-traditional methods and in cross-cultural or multi-lingual environments. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a well-developed understanding of Child Safe principles and practices; experience developing and implementing Child Safe policies and procedures is preferred. Training or experience in special education and/ or TESOL would be an advantage.
The role will be based out of the MAF International office in Cairns. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia and be able to travel domestically and internationally as required by the role.
