Job Title: Business Manager

Salary: Commensurate to the applicable step in the successful employee’s qualifications and experience aligning with the current NSW Christian Schools Multi-Enterprise Agreement.
Reports to: Principal / Board
Position Commencement: Tuesday 20 January 2026
Situated on the Central Coast and adjacent to Bouddi National Park, Coast Christian at Bensville is a co-educational Prep-Year 6 school of approximately 275 students that deeply values child safety and seeks to provide for all attending children a Foundation For Life. Our school is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and respectful environment where every child is protected, valued, and empowered to thrive.
The school is seeking to appoint its first ever Business Manager on a part-time basis (one-two days per week) to support our highly experienced Finance Manager and Accounts Clerk. The appointed person would work closely with the Board and the Principal and is expected to be responsible for leading the financial management, corporate services and ongoing development of Coast. As a key member of the Executive team, this role requires strategic guidance to advance the school’s mission and support its future growth.
The successful applicant will be a passionate Christian leader who seeks to use their skills, experience and qualifications in a key leadership role in a growing and dynamic setting.
Main duties/Responsibilities
· Manage the school’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
· Supervise non-teaching staff and oversee administrative processes.
· Coordinate compliance with WHS, risk management, and legal obligations.
· Manage contracts, facilities, and procurement processes.
· Liaise with external stakeholders including contractors, auditors, and education authorities.
· Support strategic planning and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
· Share your Christian walk with the school community through;
o Prayer with all school community members.
o Staff devotions.
· Promote the safety, inclusion and wellbeing of all children aligning with the OCG’s Child Safe Standards, School’s Child Safe Policy, Codes and procedures.
· Work collaboratively to support our staffing team, students and families.
· Follow the School policies and procedures including those relating to;
o Effective and appropriate reporting of school finances and administrative practices.
o Student and staff safety, welfare and wellbeing.
· Applicants must comply with Child Protection and other requirements for Non-Government Schools in New South Wales.
Essential Qualifications
· The successful applicant will be a committed Christian, active in a local church.
· Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, finance, or related field (CA/CPA preferred).
· Experience in financial or business management, school or education setting desired.
· Strong financial management and HR skills.
· Agreement with the School’s Statement of Faith.
· Advanced interpersonal communication skills.
· Current, cleared Working with Children Check.
· Current First aid, anaphylaxis and asthma certificates – or willingness to obtain them.
· Understanding of WHS, compliance and risk management practices.
Essential Skills and Qualities
· Willingness to follow and align with the School’s policies and procedures including the Statement of Doctrines and Beliefs, the School’s Codes of Conduct and Child Safe policies.

· Have a passion and demonstrated ability to improve the learning culture for every learner.

Desired Skills and Experience
· Experience with education sector systems (Sentral, Enrol HQ) will be highly regarded but not essential.
· Xero Accounting Software experience preferred.
