Job Title: Primary Teacher
Job Type: Potential for full time or part-time position, applicant dependent.
Location: Coast Christian School, Bensville NSW
Salary: Commensurate to the applicable step in the successful employee’s qualifications and experience aligning with the current NSW Christian Schools Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement.
Supervisor / Reports to: Deputy Principal
Position Commencement: Tuesday 20 January 2026
Situated on the Central Coast and adjacent to Bouddi National Park, Coast Christian at Bensville is a co-educational Prep-Year 6 school of approximately 275 students that deeply values child safety and seeks to provide for all attending children a Foundation For Life. Our school is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and respectful environment where every child is protected, valued, and empowered to thrive.
We are excited to be seeking a Primary Teacher to join our current staff commencing in Term 1, 2026. Depending upon applicants, this could be a full time or part-time position. Therefore, we invite applications from suitably qualified Primary teachers.
This position is an opportunity for an innovative Christian educator who is passionate about Kingdom Education and desires to work within a productive and supportive team environment.
Main duties/Responsibilities
· Share your Christian walk with the students and School community through;
o Prayer with all School community members.
o Biblical study preparation and implementation.
o Active involvement in School Chapel and
o Devotions – Staff and daily class devotions.
· Promote the safety, inclusion and wellbeing of all children aligning with the OCG’s Child Safe Standards, School’s Child Safe Policy, Codes and procedures.
· Plan, prepare, implement and evaluate high quality teaching and learning programs which include;
o Biblical principles and Christian focus.
o Alignment to NESA syllabus documents, School policies and procedures.
o Current and relevant educational practice, research and resources.
o Planned and adapted assessment/feedback of student progress and moderation of programs and teaching practice to meet the needs of the student cohort.
o Differentiation to support student learning needs, engagement, participation, interests and abilities.
· Work collaboratively to support our staffing team, students and families.
· Follow the School policies and procedures including those relating to;
o Effective and appropriate reporting and communicating student progress with various stakeholders.
o Student and staff safety, welfare and wellbeing.
Essential Qualifications
· The successful applicant will be a committed Christian, active in the applicant’s local Christian church.
· Relevant teaching qualifications including;
o Accredited teaching degree and
o Current teaching accreditation with NESA.
· Current, cleared Working with Children Check.
· Current First aid, anaphylaxis and asthma certificates – or willingness to obtain them.
Essential Skills and Qualities
· Be able to provide quality Christian education to students in Primary School.
· Willingness to follow and align with the School’s policies and procedures including the Statement of Doctrines and Beliefs, the School’s Codes of Conduct and Child Safe policies.
· Be committed to a culture that supports and embraces Child Safe Standards.
· Have a passion and demonstrated ability to improve the learning culture for every learner.
· Have high expectations and an understanding that improvement is a shared responsibility.
· Have highly developed written and oral communication skills.
· Expect to be part of a God-honouring, collaborative staff team.
· Be creative and insightful, and able to demonstrate skills in student differentiation and programming in all NESA Learning Areas including;
o Be familiar with the current and forthcoming K-6 NESA syllabi.
o Be able to adopt explicit teaching practices as a teaching method.
· Bring a relational approach to teaching, demonstrating experience and a willingness to work collaboratively with our other excellent teachers, students and parents.
Desired Skills and Experience
· Experience teaching Music or ability to play one or more musical instruments in desirable.
· Experience teaching the practical component of PDHPE is desirable.
· Experience teaching or skills in Design and Technology (K-6)
