Position Title: Primary Performing Arts Teacher
Commencing: 20/01/2025
Type: Part-Time
Hours of Work: 8.00 am to 3.40 pm (2 Days)
Reports to: Director of Upper Primary
FTE Salary: Commensurate with qualifications & experience
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Performing Arts teacher for Primary School, who is committed to fostering creativity and self-expression through music, dance, and drama. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore their artistic abilities while building essential skills in communication, collaboration, and confidence. Cedar College values a holistic approach to education, nurturing the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of each student. We are looking for an educator who will work closely with colleagues to create a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging arts program that aligns with the Australian Curriculum and reflects a Christian worldview. This role involves planning and delivering dynamic lessons that encourage students to express themselves artistically, develop performance skills, and appreciate the arts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and deliver engaging Performing Arts lessons across music, dance, and drama, catering to a variety of learning styles and abilities from Reception to Year 6.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages self-expression, confidence, and teamwork.
- Implement the Australian Curriculum while incorporating a Christian worldview and values.
- Plan and coordinate school performances and provide students with opportunities to perform and celebrate their talents.
- Provide constructive feedback to students, supporting their individual growth and development in the arts.
- Manage resources and maintain equipment needed for music, dance, and drama activities.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, and professional development, and contribute to the wider school community.

- Demonstrate the ability to interact with students and colleagues in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner.
- Ability to model and develop positive relationships with students and foster their physical, spiritual, social and emotional development.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Primary Education or equivalent
- South Australian Teacher Registration
- Current Working with Children Check
- Protective Practices online course completion
- RRHAN-EC training
