POSITION OVERVIEW
Cedar College is seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher with expertise in Health and Physical Education to join our teaching team in an ongoing capacity commencing in Term 1, 2026. This role involves delivering engaging lessons to students in Years 7–10 and contributing to their holistic growth.
The successful candidate will:
- Have the ability and qualifications to teach Health and Physical Education to students in Years 7–10
- Be involved in a Homegroup/Community
- Consider the ability to teach Christian Living an advantage
- Consider the ability to teach SACE Health and/or Physical Education, or an additional subject area, an advantage.
Applicants are expected to teach according to the Australian Curriculum and the SACE and demonstrate how a Christian worldview informs their practice, aligning with the values and ethos of Cedar College.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, deliver, and assess Health and Physical Education lessons for students in Years 7–10, ensuring alignment with the Australian Curriculum and the SACE.
Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that promotes academic achievement and personal growth.
Incorporate a Christian worldview into teaching practice, connecting faith with learning in meaningful ways.
Participate actively in Homegroup/Community sessions, building strong connections with students and supporting their wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and College leadership to maintain high standards of education and pastoral care.
Attend school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities, contributing to the College’s unified culture.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Relevant tertiary qualifications.
Current Teacher Registration (South Australia).
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Current RRHAN-EC certificate (Responding to the Risk of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect – Education and Care Training).
Protective Practices training (can be completed prior to commencement).
