Part-Time Secondary School Chaplain
Carmichael College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational, non-denominational Christian College situated in Morayfield, Queensland. The College was established in 2015 and is enjoying steady growth.
The College is seeking applications from experienced, passionate Christian professionals to join as a Part-Time Secondary School Chaplain.
The Secondary Chaplain would report to the Chaplaincy Coordinator and work with a team of chaplains who support the College.
Applicants should be available to commence as of 2026 and:
· Professionally represent the College in personal presentation, manner, and Christ-like service.
· Operate with a high and consistent standard of service, showing an enthusiastic and nurturing approach.
· Work within the College’s mission, framework, and policies at all times.
· Comply with College policies, procedures, and practices, including Health and Safety and the Staff Code of Conduct.
· Must be an Australian citizen, the College does not offer international sponsorship; Overseas applicants will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Pastoral Care
· Provide pastoral care to students (individually and in small groups) who may be facing various struggles such as mental health struggles, friendship concerns, following grief and loss, self-esteem etc.
· Record pastoral care notes according to processes directed by the Chaplaincy Coordinator
· Communicate effectively with parents and carers and necessary college staff around the needs of students
· Assist with chapels, discipleship groups and Christian Studies classes with the goal of providing spiritual support and being a mentor to students.
Chaplaincy Team Events
· Work closely with other members of the chaplaincy team and school leadership in planning of key chaplaincy events
· Be an active part of the team in leading key days such as You Belong Day, Prayer Week, 40hr Famine, Are You Okay Day etc.
Building Community
· Be willing to participate in additional parts of the college life including school camps, excursions or other special activities or events
· Maintain a visible, active profile amongst the college, ensuring you are known to students, families and staff
· Building a sense of connection within the college community by being a part of the Brekkie Club and active at lunchtimes through leading activities or simply connecting with students.
Chaplaincy Programs
· Lead social/ emotional programs (such as Rock + Water, friendship groups or Seasons of Growth) in response to identified needs.
