Carmichael College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational, non-denominational Christian College situated in Morayfield, Queensland. The College was established in 2015 and is enjoying steady growth.
As Carmichael College expands its Secondary School, the College Board is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Christian Educational Leaders for the position of Secondary Head of Department: Humanities.
This position will commence on Monday 19th January 2026 (week before 1st day of Term 1) or potentially earlier with negotiation.
The successful applicant will:

· Be passionate about teaching and learning as it relates to students in the Secondary school
· Have evidence of success in leadership
· Have the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
· Be a committed team player
· Applicants must be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers
Role Description
The Head of Department: Humanities will oversee the smooth operation of the department and promote academic excellence. Responsibilities include monitoring and managing the curriculum development and implementation, monitoring student progress and managing a team of teachers. The Head of Department: Humanities will collaborate with the Head of Secondary, other Heads of Departments, Pastoral Care teachers, and other teachers and support staff.
Key Responsibilities
· Leadership of the Humanities staff
· Curriculum oversight and day-to-day management of the Humanities Department
· Supporting improved student outcomes in Humanities
· Leading teaching and learning
· Student welfare
· Strategic direction and accountability
