Head of Department Languages

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced leader to head our dynamic Languages Department at Carey Baptist College, located at our Harrisdale Campus. Reporting to the Assistant Principal – Curriculum, this exciting opportunity allows you to inspire and shape the learning experiences of students in either Mandarin or Japanese language studies, while fostering a love for linguistic diversity and cultural understanding. This position involves a 0.2 FTE load as Head of Department (HOD) and a 0.8 FTE teaching load, offering the perfect balance between leadership and hands-on teaching.

About the Role

As the Head of Department (HOD), you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team of language teachers and promoting excellence in the teaching and learning of languages across the school. You will play a key role in curriculum development, department management, and staff mentorship, ensuring that students have access to high-quality language education that aligns with our Christ-centered mission.
