Freshwater Christian College is a private, independent Christian College located in beautiful tropical Brinsmead, Cairns. We cater for boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 12, with a current school student population of 560.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Freshwater Christian College is seeking applications from a highly motivated person with a passion for healthy food to join our lovely Café team.

The Café Convenor is responsible for the day to day operation and management of the cafe' (tuckshop). This role also includes basic administrative duties.

This position is Permanent Term Time plus Staff Development Weeks (25 hours per week) and will commence the week beginning Monday 1st April 2019.

 Skills and experience

Selection criteria:

• Be able to sign and abide by the College's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement;
• Be able to abide by the Staff Code of Conduct at all times;
• Hold or be able to obtain a positive notice (Working with Children Check) Blue Card;
• Hold or be able to obtain a First Aid and CPR Certificate;
• Hold or be able to obtain a Food Safety "I'm Alert" Certificate;
• Be reliable and honest;
• Be able to manage all aspects of the Café;
• Ability to work with all members of the College community (teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, students, visitors and valued volunteers) both individually and as a member of a team;
• Previous cafe, retail or commercial food experience is highly regarded but not essential.
