Bundaberg Christian College (BCC) is a thriving independent school, providing Christ-centred education from Early Learning (15 months) through to Year 12. Established for 30 years in 2026, the College is experiencing strong growth and is seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to lead the College’s marketing and communication strategy into the future.
About the role
Reporting to the Principal, the Marketing and Communications Manager will oversee the development and implementation of BCC’s marketing strategy to strengthen enrolments, enhance parent engagement, and further build the College’s positive reputation.
The role requires a strategic and creative thinker who can balance high-level planning with hands-on delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic leadership – Develop, implement, and evaluate the College’s annual marketing and communication plan, aligned with the BCC Strategic Plan.
- Enrolments marketing – Working closely with the College’s enrolment team, implement initiatives to attract and retain families, including digital campaigns, enrolment journey mapping, Open Day, College tours, and promotional materials.
- Digital marketing and content – Manage the College website, social media platforms, digital advertising, and content calendar, ensuring consistent and engaging communication that supports the College’s strategic vision.
- Branding and visual identity – Protect and strengthen the BCC brand through consistent use of style guidelines, visual identity, and storytelling.
- Parent communication – Working closely with administration and teaching staff, ensure accuracy and timeliness of parent communication including oversight of key channels including the BCC App, Parent Lounge and Pulse Newsletter.
- Media engagement and issues management – Manage media relationships, coordinate positive news stories, and provide strategic communications during key issues or critical incidents.
- Alumni engagement – Build the College’s alumni network, including highlighting graduate success stories and alumni events.
- Business and community partnerships – Strengthen connections with the Bundaberg business community and coordinate the College’s sponsorship program.
- Team and project management – Lead the marketing team, including management of the Digital Marketing and Communications Officer, coordinate key projects, effectively manage the marketing budget, and work collaboratively with staff across the College including members of Executive Leadership
Selection criteria
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Relevant experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content across multiple platforms.
- Strong strategic planning and project management skills, with the ability to deliver outcomes within deadlines and budgets.
- Digital marketing expertise including website management, social media management and use of relevant tools, graphic design using programs such as Canva, and demonstrated experience in photography, videography and editing.
- Experience in brand management and creative campaigns.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage positively with executive leadership, staff, students, parents, alumni, media, suppliers, business sponsors and community partners.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A demonstrated commitment to Christian faith and values, with a desire to contribute to the mission of Bundaberg Christian College.

This position is a full-time role; however consideration will be given to those wishing to undertake the role in a part-time capacity, particularly during school holiday periods.
