About the role
Brindabella Christian College is seeking enthusiastic and committed Secondary English/HASS Teachers to join our dynamic, supportive, and faith-centred team. The successful applicants will inspire students in Years 7-12 to develop academic excellence, critical thinking, literacy development. The teachers will contribute to the school’s mission by integrating faith and learning, fostering excellence in education, and nurturing students to become confident, compassionate, and responsible members of society. The successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in the ACT Senior Secondary system and be capable of preparing students for success in ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS) accredited English courses.
Teacher Position Description – Christian Community Ministries
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated English/HASS lessons for Years 7-12, with particular expertise in Years 11-12
- Teach ACT Senior Secondary English courses including English, Literature, and HASS and other BSSS accredited English courses as required
- Develop programs aligned with ACT BSSS curriculum requirements and achievement standards
- Employ evidence-based teaching strategies that improve student learning outcomes
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement
- Integrate digital technologies effectively into teaching and learning
About you
- Bachelor of Education, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Current ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- A living Christian faith and alignment with the College’s ethos
- Demonstrated ability to teach secondary English/HASS subjects
- A commitment to evidence-based practice, data-informed teaching, and meaningful student engagement
- A team-focused mindset and willingness to collaborate within a young, dynamic, and supportive HASS and English faculty
