Belmont Christian College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Christian educator to join our leadership team as the Deputy Head of Secondary. Situated in the Newcastle region, our College is a co-educational Christian school committed to providing a Christ-centred education, fostering both academic excellence and the holistic wellbeing of students.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator who is enthusiastic about future-focused wellbeing practices and has a heart for Kingdom Education. The successful applicant will be ready to commence in Term 1 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Secondary in leading the operational management of Years 7-12.
- Oversee and implement student wellbeing initiatives aligned with the College’s purpose.
- Lead the Wellbeing Team to deliver wellbeing and pastoral care services effectively.
- Ensure alignment of student discipline and wellbeing practices with College policies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- It is an inherent requirement of the role that the incumbent has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, actively attends their local church, and willingly supports the vision of the College.
- Understanding of child safety principles and demonstrated ability to implement safeguarding policies in a school setting.
- Current registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) as a secondary teacher, ideally with qualifications in wellbeing, and a valid Working with Children Check.
- Experience in providing leadership and operational support for a Secondary School.
- Experience in developing and implementing student wellbeing programs.
- Strong skills in managing student behaviour, with the ability to address sensitive issues with discretion.
