Belgrave Heights Christian School (BHCS) is located in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria and is a thriving and vibrant educational institution established in 1983 with over 830 students from Kinder – Year 12.
The School’s foundational vision, mission and values, aim to provide a rich Christ-centred education in which to encourage the development and growth of Christian faith in students. ABOUT THE POSITION
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in 2026. We are looking for a high quality teacher to join our Secondary teaching team, with the ability to teach Mathematics (Year 7-9) and Humanities (Years 7-10), as well as a desire to build relationships with Year 7 students as a Homegroup teacher.
This is a part time (0.9 FTE), parental leave cover contract commencing from Term 2, 2026. There may be an opportunity to continue into 2027 depending on staffing arrangements.
The successful applicant will:
- Have the appropriate VIT registration and qualifications.
- Be a Christian role model and be able to demonstrate an active faith to students and to all people associated with the School.
- Lead student devotions and provide an example of active Christian faith in response to devotions, curriculum and other class discussions.
- Actively support and adhere to the School’s vision, mission, and ethos.
- Have a strong knowledge of and commitment to Child Safety principles and be willing to commit to ongoing learning in this area.
As a Child Safe School we promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children, including those with a disability. We have zero tolerance for child abuse. You will be expected to contribute proactively to a culture of child safety at the School.

Child safety and protection is a shared responsibility between the School, all staff, workers, contractors, associates, visitors and members of the community (including parents and students that attend the School). As such, all potential employees will be required to comply with the School’s Policies including the Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy.
The person in this role will be responsible for taking all practical measures to ensure that the School’s Child Protection Policies are implemented and upheld. This role contributes to a strong child protection culture within the School.
