ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for a School Nurse (Registered) with Primary Nursing Care or First Aid experience, strong administrative and people skills, to join our enthusiastic, close knit office team. The School nurse role will be responsible for providing primary nurse care with a triaging focus, along with the associated administrative duties, with the support of the School’s First Aid Officer.

In accordance with school policy, relevant legislation, and within the scope of Registered Nurse practice in a school environment, the successful applicant will provide health education and act in a resource capacity to the school community. The School Nurse will also provide support to the Office Manager in overseeing our First Aid operations and procedures, ensuring the delivery of a quality service to our staff, students, and visitors.

This role is 5 days per week during school terms only, with a proposed start date of late June 2025.

It is essential that the successful applicant have, or be able to demonstrate, the following:

Have and maintain the following qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia)
  • HLTAID009 Provide CPR
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • 22556VIC Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace
  • 22578VIC First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis

 

  • Ability to remain calm and communicate clearly under pressure
  • Strong administrative, planning, and organisational skills
  • Be experienced and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Be a Christian role model and be able to demonstrate an active faith to students and to all people associated with the School
  • Actively support and adhere to the School’s vision, mission, and ethos
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, a current Victorian Working with Children Check

Preferred but not essential:

  • First Aid/Nurse experience in a School or similar environment
  • Understanding of Anaphylaxis legislation and its outworking in a school environment
  • Ability to provide health education tailored to children and adolescents
