Belgrave Heights Christian School (BHCS) is located in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria and is a thriving and vibrant educational institution established in 1983 with over 830 students from Kinder – Year 12.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We require Casual Relief Kinder Teachers to assist in our Kinder Program as required. This will be a flexible, casual position based on the day to day requirements of the Kinder.

It is essential that the successful applicant have, or be able to demonstrate, the following:

  • Have capacity to actively engage with students, providing active supervision at all times.
  • Current Early Childhood Teacher registration with VIT.
  • Current First Aid qualifications, or be willing to obtain.
  • Current Department of Education Mandatory Reporting Certificate of completion, or be willing to obtain.
  • Have a current employer Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain one).
  • Have a strong knowledge of and commitment to Child Safety principles and be willing to commit to ongoing learning in this area.
  • Be a Christian role model and be able to demonstrate an active faith to students and to all people associated with the School.
  • Actively support and adhere to the School’s vision, mission, and ethos.

As a Child Safe School we promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children, including those with a disability. We have zero tolerance for child abuse. You will be expected to contribute proactively to a culture of child safety at the School.

All applicants will undergo rigorous reference, background and identity checking.  Child safety and protection is a shared responsibility between the School, all staff, workers, contractors, associates, visitors and members of the community (including parents and students that attend the School). As such, all potential employees will be required to comply with the School’s Policies including the Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy.

The person in this role will be responsible for taking all practical measures to ensure that the School’s Child Protection Policies are implemented and upheld. This role contributes to a strong child protection culture within the School.
