Arethusa College (QLD) is an independent, co-educational school catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12. Arethusa College provides an alternative approach to education for students where previous schooling in a mainstream setting has not been successful due to social, emotional, physical, educational, familial or situational difficulties. The College believes that engagement in education has the potential to empower marginalised students. Arethusa’s holistic programs aim to re-engage and support students who are experiencing a wide range of risks, challenges and difficulties, aiming to establish a pathway to their employment. The College provides supportive and educational programs to assist students’ social, emotional and physical health. The Role The Marketing Officer has the responsibility to coordinate and sustain all aspects of internal and external communications, including promotional material, news media relations, a diverse array of electronic and print publications, web site and social medial initiatives. This part time (two days a week) role will be based at the Deception Bay Campus and will report to the Project Coordinator and work closely with Campus Principals and staff across all Campuses. Personal qualities, social and interpersonal skills The role of Marketing Officer requires a skill set that includes emotional intelligence, empathy, resilience and a commitment to personal wellbeing. Capacity to be flexible and work effectively and collaboratively in a changing work environment Areas of Responsibility Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategic plan Prepare and monitor the marketing and communications budget Plan, implement and coordinate the College’s marketing, advertising and public relations programs in line with the College Mission and Values Manage and design all College publications and printed material including promotional material, Student Enrolment material, communication to families, prospectus material, press releases and College publications Manage all social media platforms in line with the College’s Mission and Values Establish, nurture and maintain positive relationships with internal staff and external stakeholders Promote and maintain the College image in accordance with the Mission Statement and Strategic Plan Qualifications and Experience Qualification in Marketing or related discipline Minimum 2 years’ experience Strong client management and engagement experience Excellent time management and project management skills Ability to productively collaborate in a team environment Self-starter and ability to grasp new concepts Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively Experience in web design and management Experience in graphic design Ability to use a camera and edit photos for use in marketing Additional Responsibilities Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the College or external agencies which are relevant to the role or the needs of the College.
